The concept of a "Community Asset" originated from The Government's Localism Agenda.
In a nutshell, if a Community feels that a facility is core to their locality, they can register it with their Local Authority as a "Community Asset". This then brings into place a framework which can determine how the facility is subsequently managed. The registration has been made with SCDC
In the case of the "Admiral's Head" the community wishes the facility to remain a Pubilic House and re-open as such, and will put forward a proposal to acquire the facility - should it come up for sale. For information, the links below should be helpful....
